| 267 | Unsure why her maiden surname is incorrectly listed as "Sutherland." I've searched for an Andrew Gibson/Margaret Sutherland marriage and haven't found one. Census records show that Andrew Gibson worked in Dumbartonshire from 1881 onwards. Sutherland is their daughter Margaret's wedded surname. This may explain the discrepancy? | Whitelaw, Margaret (I1994)

| 271 | We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved Turk passed away peacefully at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary on Wednesday May 2, 2018. Born in Galt, ON to Nettie and John Deeton, Turk was raised in Ayr, ON, moving to Cochrane in 1965. It is here that he met his love, Vicki and raised their family. Turk spent 32 years keeping our highways maintained, working for Alberta Transportation and Carmacks. Turk loved carpentry, and upon his retirement in 1997, he was able to spend a lot of time building furniture, decks, shelves, you name it! And he could fix anything. Turk loved people and loved to talk. He will be forever remembered for his infectious smile, charm and quick wit. Turk and Vicki enjoyed exploring the world together and he loved to travel with his Family. Turk most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and took special pride any time he could cheer them on or fix or build something for them. Turk will be dearly missed by his wife Vicki; his children, Owen Deeton and Marni (Jason) Evans; grandchildren, Shontana(Danny Dewitt) and Shayla Deeton, Griffin and Natalie Evans, Darci(Cole) Bertram and great granddaughter Aurora Dewitt; and his sister Marilyn Drewett and her family. The family extends special thanks to the Cochrane Home Care Team. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church ( 404 – 4th Ave N, Cochrane, AB) with reception following at the Cochrane Legion (114 Fifth Ave, Cochrane). Memorial donations may be made to the Cochrane Lions Club (109 Fifth Ave, Cochrane, AB T4C 0A4). | Deeton, Cameron Oliver (I1901)
